Tyson Fury Vs. Oleksandr Usyk For The Undisputed Heavyweight Title Is Officially Signed

An undisputed heavyweight fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk has been signed.

According to ESPN, several sources confirmed the news on September 29th, 2023, as a fight in Saudi Arabia could take place on December 23rd, 2023, or in January 2024. The news is massive for the heavyweight division in that the boxing fan base will have the chance to see the first undisputed heavyweight champion since 1999 when Lennox Lewis beat Evander Holyfield.

At one point, however, the fight looked unlikely as previous talks for a bout at Wembley in April broke down. This was despite Usyk accepting a 70-30 split. Meanwhile, Fury ruled out fighting the Ukrainian on the basis he wanted the most lucrative fights. But now that a deal has been signed, any concerns over the purses have been put to bed. Prior to that happening, Fury must overcome Francis Ngannou on October 28th, 2023. And provided that he comes out unscathed, as he is expected to do, Fury-Usyk could be next.

Thank you to His Excellency and the GEA, what a Riyadh Season this is going to be,” Spencer Brown (Fury’s manager)
