Tyson Fury Vs. Oleksandr Usyk Might Be Announced Next Week
Fury's co-promoter Bob Arum said so.
Top Rank CEO Bob Arum said an awaited announcement is coming soon.
Arum, who co-promotes WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, said that an announcement for Fury’s undisputed clash against IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight champ Oleksandr Usyk will be made next week.
“I think both fighters want the fight, and that’s a step in the right direction,” said Arum to Fight Hub TV.
“We’re not fielding offers from around the world, and hopefully, by next week, we’ll be able to have an announcement.”
Fury is coming off of a TKO win over former rival Derek Chisora in their trilogy matchup last week.
Fury was originally expected to face Usyk in an undisputed showdown after Usyk defeated Anthony Joshua a second time. Fury had also previously knocked out Dillian Whyte in April, just four months before Usyk’s bout.
The two were reportedly targeted to fight during Super Bowl weekend in February, but that eventually fell through.
Now, since Fury is fresh off of his second win of the year, he has reportedly re-entered talks to face Usyk.
