Mike Tyson thinks if Andy Ruiz dropped Anthony Joshua once, that the unified world heavyweight champion can do it again.
Asked by ESPN Deportes, Tyson spoke with Ruiz the other day and feels that the California native is less of an underdog in a rematch with the British superstar.
“(Andy) came the other day, we talked. His energy is wonderful, he is a beautiful person,” Tyson said to ESPN Deportes.
“If he did it once, he can do it again,” said Tyson of Ruiz who stopped Joshua in the two-time Olympic gold medalist’s first loss as a pro on June 1st inside Madison Square Garden.
All boxing fans can do is await the announcement of their rematch, which is nearly set for this fall and seems to be lined up for Cardiff, Wales, giving Joshua a huge advantage against Ruiz, who has called for the fight to either be in Mexico, return to MSG, his native California, or Las Vegas, all of which are uninteresting to Hearn.
