UFC 208 Moved to Brooklyn

Changes have been made to the UFC’s schedule, as the UFC 208 event, originally scheduled to take place on Jan. 21 in Anaheim, California, has been scrapped.

With no headliners announced with less than two months to go before the event was scheduled to take place, the UFC decided to change things up. The Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, which was announced as the venue for UFC 209 following the success of UFC 205 in Madison Square Garden, will now host UFC 208. The new date of UFC 208 will be Feb. 11 — the date UFC 209 was scheduled for — while UFC 209 will be shifted back in the calendar year due to the change.

A UFC event in Anaheim has been rescheduled for August, currently listed as a pay-per-view.

Tony Ferguson told FOX Sports that he was talked to about a potential lightweight top contenders bout with Khabib Nurmagobedov for the original event, but those plans did not come to fruition.
