Miocic Earns Six Figures At UFC 220

After a contentious negotiation, Stipe Miocic got the biggest payday of his career, as the UFC heavyweight champion led the disclosed payroll for UFC 220.

Miocic, who felt underpaid in comparison to fellow champions and even challengers in his division, earned and event-high $600,000 base purse for his record setting title victory over Francis Ngannou.

The Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation released the event’s finalized salary information Tuesday, following Miocic win Ngannou via unanimous decision in Boston to notch the third consecutive defense of his UFC heavyweight title, setting a new divisional record in the process. Ngannou earned $500,000 in the losing effort.

UFC 220 took place Jan. 20 at the TD Garden in Boston, Mass. The night’s main card aired live on pay-per-view.

The three other  fighters cleared the six-figure mark were UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier ($500,000), title challenger Volkan Oezdemir ($350,000), and light heavyweight veteran Gian Villante ($100,000).

In addition to their commission-reported salaries, Cormier, Abdul Razak Alhassan, Calvin Kattar, and Shane Burgos also took home $50,000 fight night bonuses for their performances.

A complete list of the UFC 220 salaries can be seen below. As always, these figures do not represent a fighter’s total earnings, as certain sponsorship incomes, pay-per-view earnings or discretionary bonuses are not publicly disclosed.
