UFC 225 Does Less Than 150K PPV Buys
In a report earlier today from the Los Angeles Times regarding Conor McGregor’s court appearance on Thursday, Lance Pugmire claimed that the UFC’s return to Pay Per View fell way below expectations.
A source told the LA Times reporter that less than 150,000 purchased the UFC 255 event from Chicago on June 9th.
The card was headlined by Robert Whittaker’s victory over Yoel Romero, as well as Colby Covington winning the interim UFC welterweight title against Rafael dos Anjos in the co-main event.
This coupled with poor ratings for the event’s preliminary card, which featured Alistair Overeem’s TKO loss to Curtis Blaydes, highlights a potential lack of star power in the organization since stars like Ronda Rousey and Conor McGregor have either left the company or took time off to pursue other interests.
