UFC 229 Presser Not Open To Public

Earlier this week, Conor McGregor told his fans that if they bought two bottles of his Proper Number 12 whiskey, he would ensure they were able to enter Thursday’s UFC 229 press conference.

Now, the UFC is ensuring that a mob of fans holding bottles of whiskey don’t line up in front of Radio City Music Hall.

First reported by Damon Martin, the UFC confirmed on Wednesday that the press conference for McGregor’s return against Khabib Nurmagomedov is only for the media and not a public event.

“The press conference is not open to the public, it is for media only,” UFC officials wrote in a statement. “We are directing all fans to Times Square where it will be shown for public viewing.”

A live viewing party in New York’s Times Square is still planned for fans who want to watch McGregor and Nurmagomedov answer media questions regarding their October 6th showdown at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The UFC 229 pre-fight press conference is scheduled to kick off at 5 p.m. ET on Thursday
