UFC 237 Prelims Drop To 813K

Following a UFC pay per view many couldn’t watch, the UFC 237 prelims took a sharp dive in the ratings.

The prellims for a card headlined by Rose Namajunas’ defense of the UFC strawweight title against Jessica Andrade, would average only 813,000 total viewers on Saturday night on ESPN.

The UFC’s return to Rio would feature some famous names of the sport such as BJ Penn, Clay Guida, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, among others, but would not be enough to maintain the numbers of prior prelims,.

For a look at the trend, here are the first four PPV prelim cards on ESPN.

UFC 234 “Adesanya vs. Silva”: 1.33 million
UFC 235 “Jones vs. Smith”: 1.48 million
UFC 236 “Poirier vs. Holloway 2”: 893,000
UFC 237 “Namajunas vs. Andrade”: 813,000
