UFC 244 Live Results

Who’s the baddest? That question will be answered tonight at UFC 244, the promotion’s 500th total event, which takes place at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

In the main event, Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz square off for the BMF title in a bout heavily hyped by the MMA community not from the minute it was announced, but from the minute the challenge was thrown out.

Masvidal has experienced a career resurgence in 2019, scoring knockout wins over Darren Till and Ben Askren at UFC London and UFC 239, respectively — the latter of which marking a new record for fastest knockout in UFC history at five seconds.

Meanwhile, Diaz made his long-awaited UFC return after three years away from the Octagon in August at UFC 241, defeating Anthony Pettis. Following the win, Diaz called out Masvidal, stating, “there ain’t no gangsters in this game anymore [besides me and him]…I know my man’s a gangster, but he ain’t no West Coast gangster.”

The two personalities and fan favorites will be colliding for the custom-made championship, with former WWE champion and Hollywood megastar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson on hand to award the title to the winner.

The rest of the UFC 244 card is stacked with talent, with former interim middleweight title challenger Kelvin Gastelum welcoming former welterweight title challenger Darren Till to 185. In addition, the main pay-per-view card will feature action from former welterweight title challenger Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson, former heavyweight title challenger Derrick Lewis and former interim lightweight title challenger Kevin Lee — as they all take on up-and-comers, respectively, in Vicente Luque, Blagoy Ivanov and Gregor Gillespie.
