Conor McGregor was able to make quick work of Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone, finishing him in just 40 seconds in the main event of UFC 246 — which took place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“I made history here tonight, I set a new record. I’m the first fighter in UFC history to secure knockouts at featherweight, lightweight, and then welterweight here tonight,” McGregor noted in his post-fight interview. “I’m very proud of that.”
McGregor came forward right away and while he was unable to land the big left hand he’s known for, McGregor managed to press his shoulder into Cerrone’s face multiple times, busting the face of “Cowboy” open almost immediately.
McGregor then landed a high kick that rocked Cerone, swarming “Cowboy” with strikes until referee Herb Dean was forced to step in.
HE. IS. BACK.

Following the fight, McGregor did not commit to a weight division but noted that he did feel good competing at 170 pounds, sending out warnings to welterweight champion Kamaru Usman and “BMF” belt winner welterweight Jorge Masvidal, who were in the crowd, and lightweight Paul Felder, who was on commentary.
“I like this weight division, I feel really good,” McGregor said. “I’ve definitely got work to do to get back where I was.
“Any one of these fools can get it.”
