UFC 247 Live Results

The time has come to determine the future of Jon Jones. The champion is set to defend his UFC Light Heavyweight Title inside the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas at UFC 247.

Jones (25-1, 1NC) is on a three-fight win streak, surviving a war against Thiago Santos last time out at UFC 239 back in July. The only blemish on his career since 2009 is a controversial no-contest against Daniel Cormier back at UFC 214. With a win, Jones has options in multiple divisions. He can either stay in the light heavyweight division and face fighters like Corey Anderson and Johnny Walker, or fight Stipe Miocic for the UFC Heavyweight Championship.

Before he can do that, Jones will have to successfully defend his title for the eleventh time against Dominick Reyes. The 30-year-old Reyes (12-0) is coming off of a knockout win over Chris Weidman back in October in the first round. Looking to avoid the eye pokes Jones is known for, Reyes is hoping to bring the Mamba Mentality with him for the win.

In the co-main event, Valentina Shevchenko will look to defend her UFC Flyweight Championship against Katlyn Chookagian. Shevchenko (18-3) is on a four-fight win streak, beating Liz Carmouche back in August via unanimous decision. She beat Joanna Jędrzejczyk back in August 2018 for the vacant title and has successfully defended it twice.

In her way is “Blonde Fighter” Chookagian (13-2), who is on a two-fight win streak. She beat Jennifer Maia via unanimous decision at UFC 244 back in November in her last bout. Returning to flyweight in 2018 after a run in the bantamweight division, Chookagian is 4-1 in her last five fights. Both will utilize kicks for the advantage, but who’s will land harder?
