UFC 248 Live Results

Two of the biggest title fights in UFC history are set to take place today, March 7 at UFC 248. Inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, Israel Adesanya will defend his UFC Middleweight Championship against Yoel Romero. In the co-main event. Weili Zhang will be defending her UFC Strawweight Championship against Joanna Jedrzejczyk.

Adesanya (18-0) started his MMA career in 2012. He joined the UFC in 2018 and has won seven straight fights. In 2019 alone, “The Last Stylebender” beat Anderson Silva, KevinGastelum and Robert Whittaker for the UFC Middleweight Championship.

This will be Romero’s (13-4) fourth time fighting for the Middleweight Championship. The “Son of God” lost to Robert Whittaker at UFC 213 for the interim title and missed weight for two bouts against Luke Rockhold and Whittaker. Making weight this time out, the Olympic medalist is as ready and as terrifying as ever.

Zhang (20-1) will be defending her Strawweight Title for the first time since beating Jessica Andrade for it in August via TKO. She is 4-0 in the UFC and hasn’t lost a bout since 2013, her first as a pro. There were questions about whether she would have issues due to the coronavirus outbreak, but she appears ready to go.

This will be Joanna’s (16-3) make or break fight. Beating Carla Esparza back at UFC 185 for the UFC Strawweight Championship, Joanna went on a dominant run, defending the title five times. She lost to Rose Namajunas at UFC 217 in New York City and has since been trying to find her place in the organization. In five fights Joanna is 2-3, her last fight a unanimous decision win over Michelle Waterson in October.
