A wild few weeks for the UFC has led us to this moment. On July 11, the promotion will be putting on an event on “Fight Island” and will feature three huge title fights with some of the biggest names in combat sports. “Fight Island” will take place on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.

The main event will be Kamaru Usman defending his UFC Welterweight Title against Jorge Masvidal. Usman (16-1) is on a fifteen-fight win streak dating back to 2013. He beat Tyron Woodley for the title at UFC 235 and defended it against Colby Covington at UFC 245 in December.

Masvidal is on a three-fight win streak. and is 6-2 in his last eight fights. “Gamebred” is taking the fight on less than ten days notice after Gilbert Burns tested positive for COVID-19. Able to cut 20 pounds before the fight, Masvidal is looking to prove he is ready for the moment he has been waiting for since debuting in 2003.

The co-main event will be Alexander Volkanovski defending his UFC Featherweight Title against former champion Max Holloway. Volkanovski (21-1) is on an 18-fight win streak dating back to 2013. He beat former champion Jose Aldo to face off against Holloway at UFC 245. This past December, Volkanovski won via unanimous decision, breaking his hand in the process. Holloway (21-5), who is 1-2 in his last three fights, will be fighting after not training with his team in person.

Finally, Jose Aldo will look for his second world title in the UFC as he faces Petr Yan for the vacant UFC Bantamweight Title. Yan (14-1), ranked third in the UFC’s bantamweight standings, is 6-0 in the UFC. He last fought in December at UFC 245, beating Urijah Faber via KO. Aldo (28-6) will be competing in his second fight at bantamweight. He lost his bantamweight debut at UFC 245 against Marlon Moraes. The former UFC Featherweight Champion is 2-4 in his last six fights.
