UFC 273: Alexander Volkanovski, Aljamain Sterling Retain Titles In Dominating Fashion
Aljamain Sterling silences the world, Khamzat Chimaev passes the exam and Alexander Volkanovski has one of his best performances.
UFC 273 took place at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. The headlining of the event was the featherweight title fight between Volkanovski and The Korean Zombie, Chan Sung Jung.
Volkanovski was dominating from the very first seconds.

The Korean Zombie could not offer anything in response to Volkanovski’s striking and wrestling. Jung took punches and kept fighting, but Referee Herb Dean stopped the fight in the fourth round, even though there was no knockdown.
It was Volkanovski’s third title defense, and he will likely face Max Holloway in a trilogy bout.
Sterling silenced the world in the co-main event.

He earned some points by low kicks in the first round. In the second and third rounds, he dominated on the ground. Yan had his moments, but could not serve any serious punch or kick during the fight.
Sterling defended his belt via split decision.
Chimaev had the biggest test in his career.
The Wolf fought with a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu expert Gilbert Burns, and both grapplers held the fight in striking.
Burns landed several punches and served knockdowns to Chimaev, even though he was at an 11-centimeter reach disadvantage.
Mackenzie Dern got back in the winning column by earning a split decision victory against Tecia Torres.
The first round was very close, and the judges’ had different opinions about that.
Dern was trying flying Kimura from standing full guard in the second round. Torres survived in the second round, but Dern won that one. The final round was very close too, but the Brazilian earned a split decision victory.
Ian Garry and Mark Madsen remained undefeated after earning dominant unanimous decision victories.
Aleksei Oleinik earned his 60th professional MMA career victory by defeating Jared Vanderaa via submission Neck Crank in the first round. It was his 47th submission victory and 55th finish for him in MMA.
