The Brazilian and Czech fighters brought exactly what fans wanted to see.
Teixeira and Prochazka went at it for five rounds. Prochazka was landing massive strikes, but Teixeira managed to take down Prochazka and landed some massive elbows and punches.
Teixeira was handling Prochazka on the ground and was winning the fight on the judges’ scorecard. But Prochazka also landed brutal punches and knees.
Just 30 seconds before the end of the fight, just when Teixeira was dominating for the whole five rounds, Prochazka managed to escape from side control, took turtle position, and finished rear-naked choke.
It could easily be considered Fight of the Year.
In the co-main event, Valentina Shevchenko once again defended her belt. However, it was one of the most challenging fights she had ever held in the flyweight division.
Taila Santos dominated the ground in several rounds. In the fourth and fifth rounds, Santos’ eye was swollen.
Shevchenko extended her title reign by split decision.
Weili Zhang shined in the second bout against Joanna Jedrzejczyk.
In their first bout, they held war and Zhang earned the victory via decision. However, this time, Zhang used her wrestling and grappling abilities and destroyed the Polish fighter on the ground.
However, just a few seconds before the first-round bell, Jedrzejczyk managed to stand up and landed several good punches. It was not enough because, in the second round, Zhang read Jedrzejczyk ‘s movement, landed a perfect spinning back fist, and knocked out the Polish fighter.
After the loss, Jedrzejczyk announced retirement.
