UFC 289: Amanda Nunes Vs. Julianna Pena 3 Will Reportedly Headline At Rogers Arena
On June 10th, 2023, Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada, will headline the bantamweight trilogy fight between Amanda Nunes, the current UFC champion, and Julianna Pena at UFC 289.
Pena caused a stir in December 2021 by winning the 135-pound championship from Nunes in their first bout during UFC 269 with victory by way of submission.
However, Nunes managed to win back the title last year in the rematch, as she emerged victorious in a unanimous decision, creating the need for a tiebreaker.
Reports suggested that Nunes declined a possible fight with Irene Aldana because she felt that the latter should fight Julianna Pena for the chance to become the number one contender.
However, this did not materialize, which paved the way for the bout with Pena. And that has now been confirmed by UFC’s Dana White himself.
