UFC 291: Dustin Poirier Vs. Justin Gaethje 2 Set For July 29th
Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje are set to face each other for the “BMF” title at UFC 291 in Salt Lake City on July 29th, 2023.
The upcoming main event features a rematch between the pair, who squared off in 2018. During the course of that process, Poirier emerged victorious with a fourth-round TKO.
But this time around, there is more than just a ‘title’ on the line. Dana White revealed that the UFC’s “baddest motherf*****” title is once again available as the pair compete for it following Jorge Masvidal’s retirement.
In chief support, Jan Blachowicz will be facing Alex Pereira following the latter’s move up to 205 lbs. Meanwhile, Paulo Costa takes on Ikram Aliskerov in a 185-lb bout.
In addition, Tony Ferguson is set to fight Bobby Green following his five consecutive losses. Equally, Michael Chiesa and Kevin Holland also take to the Octagon in a battle between contrasting styles.

UFC Merger
The card also follows the news that the recent UFC and WWE merger will function as TKO Group Holdings on the stock exchange by the end of 2023.
This revelation came to light by Endeavor, the parent company of the UFC, becoming a publicly-traded organization on the New York Stock Exchange.
And all this bodes well for the organization moving forward.
