UFC 291: Poirier vs Gaethje Weigh-In Results

The UFC 291 weigh-in for Dustin Poirier vs Justin Gaethje’s main event took place, as the duo face off for the ‘BMF’ title on July, 29th, 2023.

In their first meeting, Poirier came out victorious with a fourth-round stoppage all the way back in 2018. This time around, both fighters arrive into the bout on good form.

Poirier’s last fight was a submission win over Michael Chandler. Meanwhile, Gaethje beat Rafael Fiziev via a majority decision.

In chief support, Jan Blachowicz  faces the ex-middleweight champ Alex Pereira, who moves up to make his debut at light heavyweight.

Blachowicz’s last bout was a draw against Magomed Ankalaev. In contrast, Pereira suffered a second-round KO loss to Israel Adesanya.

All the fighters made weight except for Michel Pereira and Vinicius Salvador. Pereira didn’t make welterweight, but a fight could have been approved at a catchweight.

However, his opponent Stephen Thompson decided not to go ahead with the fight as it was called off. Meanwhile, Salvador didn’t make the flyweight limit and received a 20 percent fine.
