UFC 292: Henry Cejudo Pulls Out With An Injury, Marlon Vera Calls Out Petr Yan
Henry Cejudo has pulled out of his UFC 292 fight against Marlon Vera due to a shoulder injury.
The former world champion in two weight classes was in line to feature at the TD Garden, Boston, on August 19th, 2023.
The news is a massive blow as Cejudo was looking to bounce back following his loss to Aljamain Sterling via a split decision.
And on top of that, the loss followed after a three-year hiatus out of the cage. As of now, the recovery is expected to take around 6-8 weeks which is a blow in his attempts to win back the bantamweight title.

But once the recuperation period is over, Cejudo is targeting a bout with the division’s top-ranked contender Merab Dvalishvili or the current champion of the flyweight division, Brandon Moreno.
“Unfortunately due to my right shoulder, I won’t be able to fight. Guys, I’ve already torn my left shoulder, where I was out for about a year. I don’t want it to tear further than what it already is.
“There’s a tear in there guys. The cat’s out of the bag. It is actually a 50 percent tear,” Cejudo said
The news was also a massive blow for Vera, who was visibly frustrated. And yet, he did have some time to call out a replacement in the form of Petr Yan.
“Well, f**k, Yan step up,” Vera
