On October 21st, live from Abu Dhabi, Charles Oliveira (34-9) will get a shot a redemption as he squares off with Islam Makhachev (24-1) in a repeat of their electrifying matchup last fall at UFC 280.
This past Saturday, during the broadcast for UFC 293, the UFC announced the full main card that will precede the lightweight main event at UFC 294.

In their first meeting, Makhachev was able to apply significant pressure and stop Oliveira in the second round by first dropping him with punches, and then securing the arm triangle choke to finish things off. This win resulted in Makhachev walking away with the lightweight title around his waist, and served as the first loss on Oliveira’s record since 2017.
Since UFC 280, Oliveira bounced back to defeat Beneil Dariush with a first round stoppage at UFC 289 in June.
Meanwhile, Makhachev successfully defended the lightweight title versus the featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski in February at UFC 284.
