UFC 303: Pereira And Prochazka Face Off Following ‘Witchcraft’ Accusations

The UFC 303 presser took place as Alex Pereira defends his UFC Light Heavyweight Belt against Jiri Prochazka on June 29 at UFC 303.

Pereira stopped Prochazka in their first fight at UFC 295 in the second round to secure the vacant belt. The victory allowed Pereira to become a two-division champion, making history. He defended the belt at UFC 300, knocking out Jamahal Hill in the first round. The performance was praised when Dana White revealed Pereira had a broken toe two weeks before the bout.

The Brazilian confirmed the news but refused to pass up on the opportunity to fight at UFC 300. He has done the same again, taking the fight after Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler was called off due to The Notorious suffering a broken toe. Prochazka bounced back from his loss to Pereira by stopping Aleksandar Rakic in a second-round TKO win at UFC 300.

Prochazka is 4-1 in the UFC, with his biggest victories against Dominick Reyes, Volkan Oezdemir and Glover Teixeira. Heading into the presser, much was said about Pereira’s alleged use of spirits/witchcraft before his fights, which Prochazka took issue with. He urged Pereira not to use ‘spiritual’ forces before the showdown.
