UFC 330 Shakeup As Islam Makhachev Chases UFC History

UFC history is at stake for Islam Makhachev (28-1) when he puts the welterweight championship on the line against Ian Machado Garry (17-1) at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia on Saturday, August 15.

Though it is only Makhachev’s second appearance in the 170-pound division, having moved up from lightweight in 2025, his welterweight title win over Jack Della Maddalena in November tied the longest winning streak in UFC history at 16.

Victory over Garry would move Makhachev ahead of Anderson Silva, who set the record with 16 consecutive UFC wins before his streak ended in 2013.

Elsewhere at UFC 330, Mackenzie Dern puts her women’s strawweight championship on the line against Gillian Robertson. Jalin Turner fights Kauê Fernandes at lightweight, while Edson Barboza clashes with Esteban Ribovics, also at 155 pounds.

Jose Ochoa was scheduled to fight Charles Johnson on the main card but withdrew due to injury. Eduardo Chapolin stepped in on short notice to face Johnson, with the replacement bout moving to the prelims and Turner vs. Fernandes being promoted to the main card.
