Marcus McGhee’s scheduled bout against Bernardo Sopaj (13-3) at UFC 332 is off, with Sopaj withdrawing due to injury just days before the event.
Promotional newcomer Anthony Romero (7-2, 1 NC) has stepped in on short notice, with the fight now taking place at featherweight.
McGhee (11-2) rebounded from his first UFC loss, a defeat to current bantamweight champion Petr Yan, with a unanimous-decision win over John Yannis in June. The victory improved McGhee to 5-1 inside the Octagon.
Romero enters on a two-fight winning streak and most recently defended the Up Next Fighting bantamweight title with a 25-second first-round TKO of Yuma Horiuchi.
The Black House MMA fighter has finished six of his seven professional victories and will make his UFC debut on just three days’ notice.
UFC 332 takes place Saturday at Delta Center in Salt Lake City, headlined by Natalia Silva against Wang Cong for the vacant UFC flyweight title.
