Sterling Out of UFC Albany

UFC Albany has suffered a major loss. According to MMA Junkie , Aljamain Sterling has pulled out of his fight with Raphael Assuncao due to injury.

Though Sterling recently suffered his first career loss to Bryan Caraway, he was 4-0 in the Octagon prior to that. His mat cup with the 7-2  Assuncao was highly anticipated.

With the event just 16 days away, a search is on to replace the injured New Yorker. Caraway could be a possibility, as he has been hunting for a fight with Jimmie Rivera before Christmas, but if he is willing to take on a man who has beat him in the past, this could be a possibility.

UFC Albany is headlined by a co-main event featuring  Derrick Lewis taking on Shamil Abdurakhimov. and Francis Ngannou against Anthony Hamilton. The event takes place on December 9 in the Times Union Center of Albany, New York.
