UFC Brooklyn: Attendance, Gate, Bonuses
UFC’s first event of 2019 was a newsworthy show with a main event that drew the reaction of the entire MMA community and multiple fighters getting big victories.
The card, which took place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, drew 12,152 with a live gate of $1,231,642.
The main event of the card featured UFC flyweight champion Henry Cejudo scoring a 32-second stoppage victory over bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw to successfully retain his title. Cejudo not only retained his world title, but also got a $50,000 bonus for receiving Performance of the Night honors.
But Cejudo wasn’t the only fighter to get a bonus. Donald Cerrone may not have been a part of the main card, but his fight against Alexander Hernandez on the prelim card ended up being the Fight of the Night, meaning both fighters got some extra cash as well. Cerrone scored a second-round TKO victory over Hernandez and that alone was enough to hand Cerrone another bonus, the second Performance of the Night honors handed out for the evening.
