UFC Champion Israel Adesanya Signs Major Sponsorship Deal

Israel Adesanya has landed a historic sponsorship deal.

Adesanya is considered to be a star in the UFC with the ability to do more in the mainstream media than some others. His exciting fighting style and personality has been credited for his ability to reach beyond fight fans. This has been further proven by his new sponsorship deal.

It has been revealed that Adesanya has inked a deal with Puma, a leader in athletic and casual footwear. ESPN’s Ariel Helwani shared the details on his Twitter account.

“Israel Adesanya has signed a multi-year deal with Puma. He will be the face of their Oceania division but will also be a part of their global marketing plans, as well. It is an apparel and shoe sponsorship. He is the first MMA fighter to ever be sponsored by Puma.”

Helwani went on to note that Adesanya can’t wear Puma apparel for the duration of the UFC’s deal with Reebok. The same applies when Venom takes over as the official apparel sponsor of the UFC in April 2021.

Adesanya is set to put his UFC Middleweight Championship on the line against Paulo Costa on September 26. The title fight will headline UFC 253 on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. It’ll be Adesanya’s second middleweight title defense under the UFC banner.
