UFC Debuts ‘Fan Bonus Of The Night’ At UFC 273
UFC fighters will soon have the chance to earn more money, but this time, it’s in the hands of the fans.
The UFC is debuting a new “Fan Bonus of the Night” on Saturday at UFC 273.
“Crypto.com has been an official UFC partner for less than a year, and I’m telling you they are already one of the best partners we’ve ever had. They’re constantly coming up with new ideas about how we can work together to connect with the fans,” UFC President Dana White said in a press release.
“This new Fan Bonus of the Night is an awesome way to get fans more engaged in our events while rewarding the fighters for bad-a– performances.”
The award will be decided via a global fan vote and winners can receive a five-figure bonus in Bitcoin. There are reportedly three different cryptocurrency bonuses including $30,000 for first place, $20,000 for second and $10,000 for third.
Fans can vote up to three times per pay-per-view on Crypto.com/FanBonus. The voting starts at the beginning of the PPV preliminary card and closes an hour after the end of the main card.
The promotion will still keep its traditional “Fight of the Night” and “Performance of the Night” awards.
The UFC has kept its foot in the cryptocurrency world, recently releasing NFTs, which reportedly sold out on the first day, and UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou taking home half of his winnings from UFC 270 in cryptocurrency.
