UFC fans might have to wait bit longer for Ngannou vs Lewis rematch

UFC President Dana White is eager to see the Francis Ngannou vs Derrick Lewis rematch, but the heavyweight champion does not seem to give two cents about this fight. The rematch is cancelled because it was never made official in the first place.

While Dana White hinted at featuring the two juggernauts of the heavyweight division at UFC 265, nothing was ascertained from the fighters. Lewis is determined to put on a show and have an exciting bout with Ngannou, unlike their first fight that drew flak from the community for lack of action.

Ngannou is after a super fight against Jon Jones, something that he has been telling the media ever since he knocked out Stipe Miocic in March. The heavyweight champion just took an extended visit to his native Cameroon. He reached the US after some time to attend Israel Adesanya’s fight against Marvin Vettori on June 12, in Phoenix, and then left flew to Dubai.

Ngannou’s actions indicate that he does not plan on defending his title in less than seven weeks, contrary to Dana White’s claims. He is determined to be Jones’ first opponent in the heavyweight division and welcome him in the debut fight no matter when it comes.
