UFC Fight Island 6 Bout Cancelled Due To Contract Issues

UFC Fight Island 6 has one less bout.

The co-main event of UFC Fight Island 6 was scheduled to be a heavyweight clash between Ciryl Gane and Ante Delija. The UFC has announced that Delija has been pulled from the event due to contractual issues. There will be no replacement opponent.

Here is the UFC’s statement on Delija’s removal from the card.

“Due to contract issues, Ante Delija has been removed from his heavyweight matchup against Ciryl Gane this Saturday and the bout has been canceled.

Stepping into the co-main event position will be the highly anticipated showdown between recent women’s flyweight title challenger and No. 1 ranked contender Katlyn Chookagian and former world strawweight champion Jessica Andrade, who is making her 125-pound debut this weekend.”

Gane was hoping to keep his wave of momentum going. To this point, he has a pro MMA record of 6-0. His last bout took place back on December 21, 2019. He defeated Tanner Boser via unanimous decision. Delija was set to make his UFC debut. He was coming from the KSW promotion. Delija’s last outing was back on November 9, 2019, when he stopped Oli Thompson in the second round.
