UFC Fight Island 6: Coach Predicts Korean Zombie vs. Brian Ortega
Ahead of UFC Fight Island 6, one coach has a prediction for Chan Sung Jung vs. Brian Ortega.
This Saturday night, October 17, Jung and Ortega will do battle in the main event of UFC Fight Island 6. The “Korean Zombie” and “T-City” will trade leather inside the Flash Forum on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. This will be Ortega’s first bout in nearly two years. He hasn’t competed since December 8, 2018.
BJPenn.com‘s Cole Shelton was able to speak to Jung’s striking coach, Eddie Cha, ahead of fight night. Cha predicted that Ortega will eat the canvas if he leaves himself as open as he did against Max Holloway.
“I think Zombie hits a lot harder than Max and Zombie is a great counter fighter. He lands the punches you don’t see and Max hit him a ton. If Korean Zombie can hit Brian Ortega a third of what Max did, Zombie is going to put him away. Ortega is super tough and has a chin, and we will see how the time off benefited him.”
Jung’s last outing was back on December 21, 2019. In the final UFC bout of that year, the “Korean Zombie” stopped Frankie Edgar in the first round via TKO. It was the second straight first-round TKO victory over Jung. He hasn’t suffered a loss since the spectacular elbow delivered by Yair Rodriguez with one second left in the fight back on November 10, 2018.
The last time Ortega emerged victorious inside the Octagon was back on March 3, 2018. He knocked out Frankie Edgar in the opening frame. While “T-City” hasn’t been able to build off that momentum, he’s hoping to get back to business in style this weekend.
