UFC Fight Night 194: Marina Rodriguez Battles To Unanimous Decision Over Mackenzie Dern
No one expected this bout to go on a distance, but they fought all five rounds.
On October 9, UFC Fight Night 194 took place at UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. The headliner was the women’s strawweight clash between Mackenzie Dern and Marina Rodriguez.
Rodriguez won a unanimous decision victory.
The first round was for Rodriguez. She landed beautiful combinations and kicks, and she landed more significant strikes.
In the second round, Dern dominated the ground for around four minutes, but Rodriguez showed some impressive defense on the ground.
In the first two rounds, Dern was attacking with 1-2 combinations and, while Rodriguez was falling back, Dern was taking her down.
However, since the third round, Rodriguez started to control the center. Dern could not land takedowns while Rodriguez was attacking.
In the fourth round, Dern had the moment when she almost locked one of her submissions. Still, the round ended, and she could not finish it.
Judges gave Dern only the second round, and all three judges scored that bout 49-46 to Rodriguez.

In the co-main event, Randy Brown defeated Jared Gooden via unanimous decision.
Brown broke his fingers, and it is evident that he could not move properly, but he kept his poker face and won all three rounds.
Maria Agapova opened the bout with Sabina Mazo as the huge underdog, but dominated the whole two rounds and finished her rival in the third via submission rear-naked choke.
However, she did not use much of her wrestling and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. She knocked down her opponent with a massive right hook and finished already significantly damaged rival via submission.
Alexander Romanov defeated Jared Vanderaa via TKO in the second round.
It was another impressive performance from King Kong.
Romanov is now considered one of the best fighters in the heavyweight division, with an undefeated record 15-0-0 with six TKO/KO, eight submissions and one decision.
