UFC Florida Live Results: Overeem Vs. Harris
It is the end of a long week for the UFC. After returning to action for UFC 249 last Saturday, the company also held an event on Wednesday. What will happen when the UFC returns tonight (May 16) to the Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena for UFC on ESPN 8?
The main event will feature the return of Walt Harris as he faces off against Alistair Overeem in a heavyweight bout. Harris (13-7, 1NC) is on a two-fight win streak and is 3-1 in his last four with one no-contest. In two fights in 2019, he took out Sergey Spivak (TKO) and Aleksei Oleinik (KO). This is his first appearance in the octagon since his step-daughter Aniah Blanchard was tragically murdered. Overeem (45-18, 1NC) is 2-3 in his last five, losing to Jairzinho Rozenstruik back in December.
The co-main event will be Angela Hill taking on Claudia Gadelha. Gadelha (17-4) last fought in July 2019, beating Randa Markos via unanimous decision. Although she hasn’t fought since then, Gadelha is 4-2 in her last six. Hill (12-7) is on a three-fight win streak, beating Loma Lookboonmee in New Zealand in her last bout. This will be her first contest since February, and third overall in 2020. This will also be Hill’s seventh fight since 2019 began.
