UFC Florida Salaries: Overeem The Big Winner In And Out Of The Octagon

Not only did Alistair Overeem win the main event of UFC on ESPN 8 on May 16, but he also out-earned everyone on the card.

MMA Fighting revealed the payday the fighters who competed inside the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida for UFC on ESPN 8 received. This is courtesy of the Florida State Boxing Commission. The main event featured Overeem ($400,000) beating a returning Walt Harris ($75,000) via TKO in the second. Claudia Gadelha ($108,000) was the highest-paid fighter of the night, competing in her first fight since last summer. She beat Angela Hill ($54,000) via split decision.

Song Yadong ($96,000) and Marlon Vera ($65,000) earned an additional $50,000 for the Fight of the Night bonus they won. In a back and forth affair, Yadong won via unanimous decision. Following a vicious armbar, Cortney Casey ($100,000) also earned $50,000 for the Performance of the Night bonus. Joining her was Miguel Baeza ($24,000), who took out Matt Brown via TKO in the main event of the prelims.
