UFC Freedom 250 Plans To ‘Tell the Story of America’

The UFC will use the broadcast of UFC Freedom 250 on June 14 to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, with vignettes telling the story of the United States throughout the evening.

“So from the first fight of the night until the main event, we will tell the story of America. You’ve got the far right, you’ve got the far left, and people thinking that this is going to be like some type of political thing. This is the 250th birthday of America. That’s the story that we’re going to tell,” Dana White

Craig Borsari, the UFC’s head of production and chief content officer, echoed the sentiment: “This is a very patriotic moment for us to integrate a little bit about the history of this country, a little bit about celebrating our heroes and celebrating our independence.”

The approach mirrors the Noche UFC event held inside the Sphere in Las Vegas, where the UFC similarly replaced standard broadcast content with themed programming tied to the occasion. UFC Freedom 250 airs exclusively on Paramount+ starting at 8pm ET, featuring seven bouts headlined by Ilia Topuria defending his lightweight title against Justin Gaethje.
