UFC Heavyweight Francis Ngannou Not Happy With Lack Of Activity
Francis Ngannou is getting tired of waiting around for an opponent.
Ngannou last competed on May 9. He went one-on-one with Jairzinho Rozenstruik on the main card of UFC 249. Ngannou starched Rozenstruik in 20 seconds with his knockout victory. UFC President Dana White has said that Ngannou is next in line for a shot at Stipe Miocic’s UFC Heavyweight Title but it’ll take Miocic a while to compete again it seems.
In a few Twitter posts, “The Predator” made it clear that the waiting game has grown tiresome.
2 title fights in the @ufc heavyweight division for the past two years and yet we don't know if there will be another one anytime soon. Contenders have to fight for something ๐ค #ThisIsSucks

Apparently Stipe is out until March. If I have to wait until then it'll be almost another year between fights.

I fought once for 20 seconds in the last 16 months ๐ #ThisIsSucks

Ngannou and Miocic competed back on January 20, 2018. Miocic handed Ngannou his first loss under the UFC banner. It was the takedowns mixed in with the striking that threw Ngannou off. Miocic ended up earning the unanimous decision win.
Following an uneventful decision loss to Derrick Lewis, Ngannou returned to form. He has gone on a four-fight winning streak with all of those bouts ending in the first round via knockout or TKO. In that span, Ngannou has taken out Rozenstruik, Junior dos Santos, Cain Velasquez, and Curtis Blaydes.
Many have wondered if the wait for Miocic’s return will lead to a showdown between Ngannou and Jon Jones. Recently, Jones relinquished the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship in an effort to bulk up for a move to the heavyweight division. Ngannou and Jones had been teasing a clash as long as the money was right but “Bones” and the UFC hit a snag during the negotiation process.
