UFC Jacksonville Salaries: Arlovski The Big Winner Of The Night
The veterans of the UFC walked out the big winners at UFC Jacksonville yesterday, May 13.
MMA Fighting revealed the payday the fighters who competed inside the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida for UFC on ESPN+ 29 received. The main event featured Glover Teixeira ($230,000) beating Anthony Smith ($130,000), earning his fourth win in a row. Those sums do not include the Performance and Fight of the Night bonus that each fighter, like Teixeira, earned.
The two highest-paid stars were Ben Rothwell ($260,000) and Andrei Arlovski ($325,000). Rothwell (38-12) struck Ovince Saint Preux with vicious shots to win via split decision in the co-main event. It was his second win in a row and eighth since joining the UFC in 2009. Arlovski (29-19, 2NC) beat former PFL Champion Philipe Lins via unanimous decision. It was his eighth win since returning to the UFC, an organization he debuted for in 2000.
Additionally, Drew Dober ($116,000 + $50,000), Brian Kelleher ($60,000 + $50,000), and Hunter Azure ($12,000 + $50,000) were both able to add to their salaries via the bonuses.
