UFC Light Heavyweight Champ Carlos Ulberg Undergoes Surgery

UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Carlos Ulberg (15-1-0) confirmed he has undergone surgery after his knee injury sustained during his title-winning performance at UFC 327 against Jiří Procházka.

Despite hurting his right knee, Ulberg baited Procházka into an exchange and landed a counter left hook at 3:45 of Round 1, ending the fight instantly. Ulberg then shared the news of the surgery via an Instagram story from his hospital bed in Las Vegas, captioned simply, “Knee surgery done.”

With surgery now complete, the 205-pound division enters a state of uncertainty. Ulberg, 35, is facing a tough rehabilitation process. There is speculation that he ruptured his ACL. The standard recovery for an ACL reconstruction typically ranges from 9 to 12 months, meaning Ulberg will likely not return until 2027.
