UFC Liverpool Main Event On As Till Makes Weight
Averting disaster earlier Sunday afternoon, Darren Till was able to make the agreed upon 187.3 pounds at an early weigh-in scheduled weigh-in around 1 p.m. local time in Liverpool, England.
Till was required to weigh-in a second time following his failure to make the welterweight limit at Saturday’s official weigh-ins, where he came in three and a half pounds heavier than the 171 pound limit.
Stephen Thompson, Till’s opponent, will now get 30% of Till’s show money, and fulfilled the obligations of not coming in to the second weigh in heavier than 188 pounds, with Thompson’s team needing to be at the second weigh-in.
Media were not permitted to watch, but a source sent MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani a picture of Till’s Sunday weigh-in:
Media wasn’t allowed in the room when Darren Till weighed in, however, here’s a pic of the scale provided to me by a source who was in the room. As you can see, 187.3 pounds. Crisis averted. pic.twitter.com/c1mkXoncWw

Till, a Liverpool native, is the cornerstone of the UFC’s efforts in Liverpool, and was allegedly dealing with a family emergency that may have complicated his initial weigh-in.
