UFC Minneapolis Live Results

A heavyweight battle headlines UFC Minneapolis, as two of the UFC’s best, and heaviest, hitters look towards another potential UFC Heavyweight Title shot when they meet at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The main event will see former heavyweight title challenger Francis Ngannou take on former champion Junior dos Santos.  The pair was originally scheduled to meet two years ago at UFC 215, but dos Santos was provisionally suspended by USADA prior to the fight for a potential violation — which he would end up getting cleared of due to tainted supplements.

Ngannou had taken the UFC by storm since his December 2015, scoring big finishes, including a vicious uppercut that sent Alistair Overeem out cold at UFC 218. Ngannou struggled in 2018, however, losing a one-sided decision to Stipe Miocic in their UFC 220 title fight and lost a highly-criticized fight with Derrick Lewis at UFC 226. The Cameroonian fighter rebounded, however, with knockouts of Curtis Blaydes and former UFC champion Cain Velasquez.

Since his return from suspension in 2018, JDS has scored a decision win over Blagoy Ivanov before getting finishes of Tai Tuivasa at UFC Adelaide and Lewis at UFC Wichita.

The co-main event of the evening will see another contenders battle, but in the UFC’s smallest male weight class, as flyweights Jussier Formiga and Joseph Benavidez battle it out.
