Anthony Johnson would put himself right into the conversation of potential light heavyweight title contenders, following his third round submission of Volkan Oezdemir in the main event of UFC’s Fight Night card in Moncton.
Johnson would not only take home an extra $50,000 for a performance of the night in stopping the former title challengers, it would be Johnson’s second straight post-fight bonus and the third of his career.
The other Performance of the Night winner came early on in the show, when former EFC champion Don Madge made his UFC debut, dropping Te Edwards in the second round with a head-kick.
The Fight of the Night came from the FS2 preliminary card, where Nasrat Haqparast and Thibault Gouti threw down for three rounds. While Haqparast got a unanimous decision win, they both took home $50,000 in their first post-fight bonus.
