UFC Newark Live Results

Creating controversy wherever he goes, Colby Covington is finally returning to the octagon. A former Interim Welterweight Champion, Covington will look to get back on track and become the true contender for Kamaru Usman’s title. In his way is the 37-year-old Robbie Lawler. UFC on ESPN 5, also known as UFC Newark, takes place inside the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Covington (14-1) is looking for his seventh win in a row in his first fight since June 2018. He beat Rafael dos Anjos back at UFC 225 to win the interim title. Due to surgery and not fighting sooner, Covington was stripped of the belt. With his personality being the major promotion for this fight, he has a chance to prove his bite is as worse as his bark.

Coming off of a controversial loss to Ben Askren at UFC 235, Lawler (28-13, 1NC) is trying to become a true contender again. A former champion in his own right, Lawler is on a two-fight losing streak. 1-3 in his last four fights, Lawler is not paying attention to Covington’s antics and hopes to walk away with the victory.
