UFC Raleigh: Lentz Shows Eye Injury From Allen Fight

It was a tough outcome for Nik Lentz at UFC Raleigh, as he lost to Arnold Allen via unanimous decision. During the bout, Lentz suffered a poke to the eye during the second that severely affected his ability to fight. From there, Allen took over and kept control throughout, with no points deducted.

Lentz (30–11–2, 1NC) was able to reach out on social media, posting an Instagram video stating he suffered two cuts in his cornea from the eye poke. He stated he is seeing a specialist and the hope is that he doesn’t need surgery.

“Hey everyone, Judges and shits refs aside….. I’m doing alright besides having a few cuts on my cornea from eye gouges. Freaking ref didn’t even give me a second. Fought rest of the fight seeing triple. See a specialist in Florida when I get home. Hopefully will not need surgery or anything. Thanks to everyone who supports me. Can’t wait to be home and see my Family and kids. 🙏🏼🎡 #UFC #MMA @trulieve_fl @ufc @hardknocks365 @henrihooft @kamibarzini @coachgjones @sanfordmma

That was Lenz’s second loss in a row, following a TKO-loss to Charles Oliveira back in May. There is no timetable as of this moment on his return to the octagon.
