UFC Releases Four Fighters Including Mara Romero Borella
The UFC has released four more fighters early in the fall.
MMAFighting.com reports that Mara Romero Borella, Iuri Alcantara, Jeff Hughes, and Khadis Ibragimov have been released from their UFC contracts. All four fighters are coming off defeats.
Borella has lost her last four outings, including her recent submission defeat at the hands of Mayra Bueno Silva. She hasn’t emerged victorious since February 2, 2019. Borella went 2-5 under the UFC banner.
Alcantara hasn’t fought since August 25, 2018. He suffered a second-round TKO loss to Cory Sandhagen. He’s gone 1-3 in his last four outings. Alcantara had been a member of the UFC roster since 2011.
Hughes was never able to pick up a win during his time with the UFC. He’s gone 0-3, 1 NC in his last four fights. In his most recent bout on September 27, Hughes was submitted by Juan Espino in the opening frame.
Like Hughes, Ibragimov went winless during his time with the UFC. While he had an undefeated pro MMA record of 8-0 prior to signing with the UFC, Ibragimov ended up going 0-4 under the UFC banner.
