UFC Releases Schedule for Q3 & Q4 2019

The UFC has released its complete schedule for events in the second half of 2019, making the announcement to the public during the UFC 237 broadcast.

It all begins on July 6, when the UFC hosts UFC 239 in Las Vegas, Nevada, as part of the UFC International Fight Week. That event will feature Jon Jones defending the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship against Thiago Santos, and Amanda Nunes defending the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship against Holly Holm. It will also see Junior dos Santos take on Francis Ngannou and Ben Askren face Jorge Masvidal.

The UFC has a second pay-per-view scheduled for July, with UFC 240 on July 27, but no location or main event has been announced.

The UFC will then hold UFC 241 on August 17 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, featuring Daniel Cormier defending the heavyweight title against Stipe Miocic, and the return of Nate Diaz, as he takes on Anthony Pettis at welterweight.

Following that, the UFC’s next pay-per-view would take place three weeks later on Sept. 7, with the UFC putting on UFC 242 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. No main event has been announced, but it is expected that it will see the return of UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov as he’d take on interim champion Dustin Poirier in a title unification bout.

There would then be three UFC pay-per-view events between October and December to close out the year: UFC 243 (Oct. 5), UFC 244 (Nov. 2) and UFC 245 (Dec. 15). While there is no information available on these three events, the one December pay-per-view would mark the first time since 2015 the UFC holds just one pay-per-view card in December. In recent years, the UFC would hold an early December PPV card before then holding one right before New Year’s.

The UFC also announced a slew of UFC Fight Night on ESPN+ events and UFC on ESPN cards, but little information is known about them. July 13 will see an ESPN+ card air from Sacramento, California, while July 20 will have an ESPN card in San Antonio, Texas.

Sept. 21 will feature an ESPN+ card airing from Mexico City, and there will be one card airing on ESPN2 — taking place on Oct. 18, a Friday. The final UFC on ESPN card for 2019 will be on Dec. 7, while the final ESPN+ card of the year takes place on 2019 — with UFC 245 sandwiched between.
