UFC Singapore Post-Show Bonuses Awarded

Although the main draw of the UFC Singapore event was Donald Cerrone vs. Leon Edwards, it was the fighters from the prelims that walked away with most of the post-fight bonuses.

What ended up being the “Fight of the Night” was featherweight fight between Shane Young and Rolando Dy that took place in the prelims. The fight was an action-packed battle that culminated with Young landing a standing elbow on Dy and then throwing a number of punches which forced the TKO. The stoppage came in with only 20 seconds remaining in the second round.

Song Yadong was one of two fighters to also walk away with “Performance of the Night” bonuses. Yadong got his bonus for his impressive win over Felipe Arantes, which happened at the end of the second round of their bout. Like with Young, Yadong got his win with a standing elbow strike followed by numerous punches which forced the referee to step in to stop the fight.

The other “Performance of the Night” bonus was awarded to Ovince St. Preux for his first-round submission win over Tyson Pedro on the main card. St. Preux needed less than three minutes to beat Pedro as St. Preux managed to force his opponent to tap with an armbar.

This is the fifth time St. Preux was given the “Performance of the Night” bonus with his last one coming against Corey Anderson back at UFC 217 and it was the sixth time he was given a post-show bonus. St. Preux improves to 23-11 in his pro MMA career.
