UFC star Luis Pena arrested for robbery in Florida
UFC fighter Luis Pena has been arrested for alleged robbery and assault in Florida’s Coral Springs days after the martial artist revealed he has been facing mental health issues. The police took the MMA fighter into their custody on three counts: robbery by sudden snatching, battery and criminal mischief. He was apprehended after the police received the tip that he’s in the area. An arrest warrant was already issued by an outside jurisdiction.
When the police got in touch with Pena, he confirmed his identity to the officers. UFC Executive Vice-President Hunter Campbell has affirmed that the organization is looking into the situation and aware of his mental health issues as well.
Pena is known as the Violent Bob Ross due to his resemblance to the famous late painter. The 27-year-old last fought and won against Alexander Munoz in April 2021. He has competed in lightweight and featherweight divisions in the UFC.
Last June, the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) suspended Pena from the activity for 4.5 after he tested positive for marijuana.
