UFC Vegas 37: Anthony Smith Chokes Out Ryan Spann In First Round

The Anthony Smith and Ryan Spann showdown only last four minutes.

Smith (36-16) submitted Spann (19-7) via rear-naked choke in the first round of the main event of UFC Fight Night 192 in Las Vegas Saturday night. Smith moves one fight closer to another shot of the UFC light heavyweight title.

Both fighters started the fight in a very aggressive way.

In the beginning, Spann landed a huge left hook and hurt Smith. He tried a takedown, but Smith recovered and landed several serious punches.

Spann went for a takedown to defend himself, but it was Smith who managed to earn another submission victory.

In the co-main event, Ion Cutelaba earned an impressive victory over Devin Clark.

Clark started fighting with an immediate takedown, but at the end of the first round, Cutelaba landed huge shots and showed massive ground and pound skills after knocking down his rival.

However, Cutelaba could not earn another finish, but was awarded via unanimous decision.

Meanwhile, Arman Tsurekyan earned his first-ever finish victory in the UFC.

He dropped Christos Giagos with a huge left hook and finished him with massive ground and pound. After the fight, he said that he was ready for anyone from the top five or 10.

It was a very close fight between Joaquin Buckley and Antonio Arroyo.

Arroyo had some advantages during the battle while Buckley ate massive knee and high kicks, but in the third round, he landed a huge right cross left uppercut combination and earned another KO victory.
