UFC Vegas 41: Marvin Vettori Overcomes Brawl Vs. Paulo Costa With Unanimous Decision
After an all-out slugfest, fans and pros are starting to think Marvin Vettori and Paulo Costa should just stay at light heavyweight.
On Saturday, two former title challengers, Costa (13-2) and Vettori (18-4-1), headlined UFC Vegas 41. Vettori conquered the contest by earning a unanimous decision win.

This bout was supposed to be held in the middleweight, but Costa admitted he wouldn’t be able to cut, so they decided this fight to happen in the catchweight (195 pounds), but it was finally held in the light heavyweight division (205 pounds).
Many people said that Costa was cheating because he did not even try to make weight. He was way bigger, but Vettori said he wanted to share the octagon with Costa at any cost.
No one expected that these two giants could hold all five rounds at high speed and level. They exchanged killer punches while Costa was using the right kick to the body. Once, he landed a massive high kick, and even stunned Vettori in the second round.
But Vettori was controlling the center for all the rounds.
Also, in the second round, Costa lost the point because of an eye poke.
Judges scored the fight 48-46, which means Vettori won three rounds, so Costa would lose even if he did not lose the point for an eye poke.
Grant Dawson opened the bout against Ricky Glenn as the considerable favorite, but earning the victory did not turn out to be so easy. Judges scored that bout as a draw after three competitive rounds.

Alex Caceres nearly lost the fight versus Seung Woo Choi via knockout several times in the first round, but he managed to earn submission victory in the second round, and it might be nominated as the comeback of the year.
