UFC Vegas 41 Medical Suspensions: Marvin Vettori, Paulo Costa Might Be Sidelined For Six Months

Paulo Costa and Marvin Vettori held a five-round war inside the octagon where Vettori earned a unanimous decision victory, but was damaged by Costa.

Vettori suffered injuries on the right knee and forearms while Costa suffered a right foot injury, which he mentioned that he sustained before the fight. However, both fighters could sit out for six months.

Here’s the rest of the medical suspensions from UFC Vegas 41:

Marvin Vettori (both forearms, right knee): Must have X-rays of both forearms and MRI of the right knee. Should the result come back positive, clearance from an orthopedic doctor is needed or no contest until April 22, 2022. Minimum suspension/no contest until December 8 and no contact until November 23

 

Paulo Costa (right foot, left eye): Must have X-ray of right foot and clearance for the left eye. Should the result return positive, clearance from an orthopedic doctor and ophthalmologist is needed or no contest until April 22, 2022. Minimum suspension/no contest until December 8 and no contact until November 23

 

Grant Dawson (broken eleventh rib): Must have broken eleventh rib cleared by thoracic doctor or no contest until April 22, 2022. Minimum suspension until November 23 and no contact until November 14

 

Ricky Glenn: Suspended until November 23 and no contact until November 14

 

Joselyne Edwards (nasal laceration): Suspended until December 8 and no contact until November 23

 

Alex Caceres (lip laceration): Suspended until Nov. 14 and no contact until Nov. 7

 

Seung Woo Choi: Suspended until December 8 and no contact until November 23

 

Francisco Trinaldo (left hand): Must have an X-ray of the left hand. Should the result come back positive, clearance from an orthopedic doctor is needed or no contest until April 22, 2022. Minimum suspension/no contest until November 23 and no contact until November 14

 

Dwight Grant: Suspended until November 23 and no contact until November 14

 

Ike Villanueva: Suspended until Dec. 6 and no contact until Nov. 23

Mason Jones (right knee): Must have MRI of the right knee. Should the result come back positive, clearance from an orthopedic doctor is needed or no contest until April 22, 2022. Minimum suspension/no contest until November 23 and no contact until November 14

David Onama: Suspended until November 23 and no contact until November 14

 

Maria Oliveira: Suspended until Nov. 23 and no contact until Nov. 14

Jeff Molina (right ankle): Must have X-ray of right ankle. Should result come back positive, clearance from an orthopedic doctor needed or no contest until April 22, 2022. Minimum suspension/no contest until November 14 and no contact until November 7

Daniel Lacerda: Suspended until Dec. 8 and no contact until Nov. 23

 

Livia Renata Souza: Suspended until November 23 and no contact until November 14
