UFC Vegas 43: Ketlen Vieira Sours Miesha Tate’s UFC Comeback With Unanimous Decision Win

Ketlen Vieira proved herself as a worthy contender.

Vieira (12-2) served Tate (19-8) a unanimous decision loss in UFC Vegas 43’s main event Saturday night.

Tate started the first round by landing several combinations and protected herself from the Brazilian’s takedown attempt just 20 seconds before the first-round bell.

But in the second round, Vieira started using her long limbs and massive shots and counterattacked all of Tate’s combinations.

The final round was fatal for the former champion, there was hope for her, but Vieira destroyed the former champion’s face and suffered lots of damage.

In the co-main event, two amazing grapplers shared the octagon for 15 whole minutes.

Sean Brady, the former No. 14 ranked contender, defeated the No. 6 ranked fighter and guaranteed himself in the top 10.

In the first two rounds, Brady proved that he is not afraid of grappling even against guys like Chiesa, but in the final round, Chiesa almost earned his first-ever KO loss when he landed several serious combinations.

Brady won the fight 29-28 on all the judges’ scorecards.

Fans witnessed only one submission finish by Taila Santos.

As soon as Santos served serious damage to Joanne Wood, she earned submission victory, which everyone least expected.

Rani Yahya proved that he is one of the most dangerous grapplers in the UFC; even at 37 he is unstoppable on the ground. This time he defeated a really good Korean grappler, Kyung Ho Kang.

Adrian Yanez and Davey Grant left everything they had inside the octagon.

They fought for all three rounds, and Yanez earned his fourth victory in a row in the UFC. He remains undefeated in the promotion, but it was the first-ever decision victory.
